Congratulations to ERG PhD student Lydia Smith on receiving the Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award 2016! Her evaluations from students were superlative — many citing her as “the best GSI I ever had” and especially honoring her ability to explain difficult material in an accessible and supportive manner.
The Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor (OGSI) Award honors over 200 UC Berkeley GSIs each year for their outstanding work in the teaching of undergraduates. These OGSI recipients are nominated from within their teaching department. The GSI Teaching & Resource Center gives the award recipients certificates of distinction and a celebratory ceremony in the spring.
