Eleanor Adachi

Eleanor Adachi (she/her) is a Master’s student in both the Energy and Resources Group and the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley. She is passionate about designing policies that simultaneously promote grid decarbonization and equitable access to clean energy. In addition, she is interested in studying how resilience and environmental justice can be incorporated into decision-making processes. Outside of school, she works on demand response policy at the California Public Utilities Commission. Before coming to UC Berkeley, Eleanor developed rooftop solar projects for nonprofits and low-income communities, worked on electric portfolio optimization for a large investor-owned utility, and managed a demand response program at an energy storage company. She holds bachelor’s degrees in engineering science and physics from Smith College.

Eleanor was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and has a deep love for the California landscape. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, spending time outdoors, and dancing like no one is watching.
