Eli is an Ecological Economist working on comprehensive welfare measurement, tracking, and optimization. His research investigates and contributes to filling the gap between market optimization/welfare and broader social welfare. Recent work includes: embarking on building a CGE model (in Julia) to test impacts of multiple externality taxes; combining Ecological Footprint (EF) and SDG Indicators data to assess EF efficiency; a novel Gross Domestic Welfare indicator; GPI for the US and California. Eli was a Lead Researcher at the Global Footprint Network non-profit think tank, where he led production and development on both a material-flow and multi-region input-output EF model. Eli holds a MS from ERG, and a BA in Economics with the highest honors from SFSU.
